BOTOX INJECTION
Botulinum toxin, or Botox is a highly refined medication
used in very small amounts to smooth deep wrinkles, and relax overactive
frown lines.
LASER RESURFACING
A new generation of lasers are proving to be quite effective,
while shortening recovery time, and lessening skin color changes for patients
who undergo skin resurfacing.
LIPOSUCTION
Small
suction instruments are inserted through a very small incision in the
skin crease under the chin, in order to remove accumulations of excessive
fat. This precise and minimally invasive procedure can be done by itself
in younger patients, or as a part of the facelift procedure in almost
all patients who are undergoing facial rejuvenation.

IMPLANTS
The array of available synthetic facial implants is continually
changing. Dr. Godin is a nationally recognized researcher into the uses
and safety of one of the most widely used implant materials: medical-grade
Gore-Tex. Synthetic implants are most commonly used to build up the bridge
of the nose in rhinoplasty, to improve a receding chin, and to give fullness
to the cheekbone or malar area.
COLLAGEN
The
patient's own skin is now used to produce autologous (one's own) collagen
which is purified and injected for cosmetic augmentation in areas such
as the lips and small to moderate wrinkles. Earlier collagen injections
were derived from bovine skin and resorbed quickly, with a significant
chance of rejection by the body. Because this new form of collagen comes
from the patient's own skin, these problems may be diminished. The skin
is recovered from facelift surgery or harvested specifically for this
application and forwarded to a laboratory where the extraction and purification
is performed.
